The “DIGNITY STORE” is a one of its kind Shopping Experience where we invite the less-privileged and destitute to shop absolutely FREE. The underprivileged are often disregarded and looked down upon in society. Many a times they are given poor quality “hand me downs” in the name of “charity” without considering the recipients of those “hand me downs”.

We create a “Store Like Concept” at various venues in different cities in South Africa and stock it  with New and gently used clothing, shoes, blankets, toys, Groceries, Fresh fruit and Vegetables ,Personal Care Items, household items and so much more. We then invite various Orphanages, Old Aged Homes, Less privileged Communities and the Homeless to shop for FREE.

Each Individual gets a dedicated Personal Shopper who chaperones them through their Shopping Experience. The individuals get to choose the items they wish to have, they walk over to the counter, where we place their items into a bag and thank them for shopping with us. Their shopping experience is completed with each person getting a cooked meal  and a sweetie pack to takeaway with them.

The ethos of The Dignity Store is to create a “Wow Experience” for all our recipients, giving them the opportunity to CHOOSE for themselves in that moment and choose LIFE.

We would like to bring consciousness to the fact that these are members of our Human Family and NOT poor Human Beings.

Our motto is to “Create Opportunity with Dignity” by building people, their confidence and self-esteem. THE DIGNITY STORE gives them their ‘Freedom of Choice’ in a dignified experience. By giving them an opportunity to choose today, we hope to inspire them to make better choices   in their lives going forward and rise above their situations.

Making a choice is the one thing that we do every single moment in our lives .The psychological impact of making good choices and taking the responsibility of those choices empowers you.
